Maria Garvey-Caruso

Dr Garvey graduated with a Bachelors degree in Dance from Jacksonville University in 2005, she then moved to New York City where she danced with H.T. Chen Dance Company, Ellen Stokes Shadle/Dance Works, and Mary Seidman. She was drawn to a career in physical therapy as it is a perfect way to blend her dance background with her love of medicine. In 2014, Maria graduated from the University of Vermont with a Clinical Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.  She has spent the past 3 years at a private outpatient orthopedic practice in Vermont and also has experience in the acute care and outpatient neurologic rehabilitation settings. Her special interests are in vestibular treatment, manual therapy, and canine rehabilitation. The thing she finds most rewarding about physical therapy is being able to get to know each patient individually and help them heal their bodies with movement. She and her partner are moving to Seattle to be closer to family. In her free time she enjoys hiking, biking, rock climbing, cross-country skiing and walking her dogs, June and Pepita.
